About Me
Hello! I'm a subject matter expert and educator in search engine optimization for a Fortune 200 company and tutor community college students on the side. I am an expert in both content and technical SEO for e-commerce websites and a student of web development (I built this site as an exercise in Bootstrap and Flexbox). I'm open to freelance and part-time work in writing or SEO. I particularly enjoy writing about technology, education, and music.
My skill set includes keyword research, link building, site architecture, content writing, content strategy, canonicalization best practices, crawling/indexation/ranking issues, semantic HTML, web accessibility best practices, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and diagnosing issues related to Core Web Vitals with Google Lighthouse, Google DevTools, PageSpeed Insights, and webpagetest.org.
I am competent in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, seoClarity, Moz, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Google Ads. I have experience using several content management systems including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Wordpress, Magento, Weebly and Squarespace. I take a product owner mentality to search engine optimization, creating product roadmaps, presenting SEO business cases, and using data-driven insights to help product owners and SEO teams alike prioritize their initiatives.
My personal hobbies include playing bass guitar, creative writing, web development, gardening, boxing, yoga, reading (a lot of Stephen King!), and biking.
I just started a blog, too! Check out What Dusty Does as I talk about my profession and hobbies.
